The Govt. of India (Ministry of Human Resource Development) has entrusted the task of implementation of PMSSS for students belongs to the union territories of J&K state and Ladakh in the Colleges/ Institutes approved by the respective regulatory bodies by creating supernumerary seats.
With a view of providing the youth belonging to state of J&K with better opportunity and enhance their potential for better employment, Govt. of India has instituted a scheme for award of scholarships to students who perform meritoriously at higher secondary school level and are desirous of pursuing under- graduate studies in various colleges and institutes located outside their domiciled. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), under the Ministry of Human Resource Development has been entrusted with the responsibility of administering the scheme. The engineering colleges under JIS Educational Initiative are the courses with the approval of AICTE. These colleges are also accredited by NBA and NAAC The counselling for the admission under the PMSSS scheme is conducted by the AICTE, New Delhi and the students have been allotted institutions through counselling process. Students have been given strict instructions to report to their allotted institute within the specified date reflected in the allotment letter.
- The PMSSS scholarship covers the academic fees with a limit of Rs. 30,000/-, Rs. 2.25 Lakhs and 3.00 Lakhs per annum respectively in the General, Professional & Medical streams or the actual fees prescribed by the State fee Regulatory Committee, whichever is less to be paid to college.
- The maintenance allowance of Rs. 1.00 Lakh per annum to be paid to the student in nine (9) installments to bear expenses towards hostel/mess/books & stationary etc.
- First instalments of which Rs. 20,000/- will be released immediately on verification of joining report by the institute.
- Remaining eight (8) instalments of Rs. 10,000/- each will be released on monthly basis subject to online verification of students attendance by the concerned Institute.

- The payment to the colleges and the students will be released directly into their respective accounts.
- For being eligible for the Scholarship under PMSS, an applicant should have secured minimum 60% marks in MEQ The following documents are required to be uploaded by the students while applying online: - (a) Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard Certificate signed by ZSB/Coast Guard HQ as per Annexure-1 (ORIGINAL TO BE SCANNED AND UPLOADED). (ORIGINAL TO BE SCANNED AND UPLOADED). The students must have passed a 10+3 diploma from UTs of J&K and Ladakh Polytechnic for direct admission in the second year in the prescribed list of colleges against the vacant seats of the previous year. The annual income of the family should be less than INR 8 lakh.
The following documents will be required while applying online for PM Scholarship 2024-25:-
- Applicant’s Aadhar card.
- Passport size photo.
- Aadhaar linked bank account details.
- PPO/Discharge Certificate of Ex-Serviceman or Service Certificate of Serving Serviceman (as applicable).
- Certificate of minimum eligibility qualification (e.g. 10+2/Diploma or Graduation).
- Details of the college and course where you have taken admission in professional course.
